EXCLUSIVE: Manish Shah of Goldmines Telefilms predicts that Pushpa 2 – The Rule will be a HISTORIC blockbuster and that there’s a possibility that it can BREAK the record of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion

The much-loved film, Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01, was released in cinemas on December 17, 2021. The Allu Arjun-starrer had an opening of just Rs. 3.33 crore. But thanks to terrific word of mouth and lack of competition due to postponement of films post Christmas, it had a free run in cinemas. The film has already neared Rs. 90 crore mark, shocking the industry and trade pundits. And as the title suggests, this is just the first part of the action saga. Needless to say, the hype for Pushpa 2 – The Rule is already unprecedented.

EXCLUSIVE Manish Shah of Goldmines Telefilms predicts that Pushpa 2 – The Rule will be a HISTORIC blockbuster and that there’s a possibility that it can BREAK the record of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion

Reports have suggested that the sequel will go on floors soon and that it’ll release this year, in December 2022. Bollywood Hungama recently had an exclusive chat with Manish Shah, of Goldmines Telefilms, who brought the Hindi version of the film to cinemas. He set the record straight on its possible release period and also confidently made predictions about the film’s possible box office outcome.

When asked when the shooting of Pushpa 2 – The Rule will begin, Manish Shah said, “It begins in March or April this year.” He also made it clear that it’ll not have a release in cinemas in 2022, “It’ll probably release in 2023.”

Manish Shah also made it clear that it’s not possible for the film to even release a year from now, say in January 2023. He explained, “The shoot will go on for around 250 days. Part 1’s shoot lasted for 210 days. So, the release of Pushpa 2 – The Rule depends on how fast the filming proceeds and whether or not we face a lockdown or such other impediments.”

The trade, industry and fans are confident that Pushpa 2 – The Rule can be a huge hit. Manish Shah agrees with this notion and said, “In my opinion, Pushpa 2 – The Rule is going to be a historic blockbuster. Kitne records todegi, main khud nahi jaanta!”

So does he feel that Pushpa 2 – The Rule can even break the record of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (2017), the biggest hit in Hindi so far with collections amounting to a mind-boggling Rs. 510.99 crore? Manish Shah replied, “Well, there’s a possibility. Baahubali’s first part collected Rs. 120 crores. Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 will end up with a lifetime of Rs. 93-94 crores. Therefore, the difference is only 30%. 50% zyada mehnat kar di hum sab ne to Pushpa 2 Baahubali 2 ka record tod degi!”

Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. It tells the story of an illegitimate child who starts as an ordinary worker in the red sandalwood smuggling industry but later becomes the head of the syndicate.
