Karan Johar opts for a five-tier cake for his 50th birthday bash

Since last evening, the star-studded birthday bash of Karan Johar has become the talk of B-town. The filmmaker hosted a lavish party which was attended by all his friends from the entertainment industry. The director-producer even planned a theme for his bash which was all about black and bling. Needless to say, his cake was equally grand and in-sync with the theme.

Karan Johar opted for a green blingy tuxedo along with black pants for his birthday. The filmmaker was seen posing with CEO of Dharma Productions, Apoorva Mehta for the red carpet appearance. On the other hand, the birthday boy posed with all his favourites including besties Kajol and Rani Mukerji at the party. Amidst that, we found this video of the cake cutting ceremony. The said cake was a five-tier bling themed cake with a topper that read, ‘Happy Birthday KARAN’. The video also features Karan warmly greeting one of his good friends and actress Parineeti Chopra. Speaking of the bash, it was attended by many Bollywood celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, who have now returned from Cannes, bestie Kareena Kapoor Khan who made an appearance with husband Saif Ali Khan, Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora. On the other hand, the bash also saw newlyweds Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad, Ranveer Singh, newbie Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday among others.

On the work front, on the occasion of his birthday, Karan Johar announced that while his production ventures are all in the pipeline, he is set to return to direction again. Known for his romantic and family dramas, the director revealed that this time he would be directing an action film but kept the rest of the details under wraps.
