Kartik Aaryan on making name after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, not having godfather in film industry: ‘I have a strong belief system in myself’

Kartik Aaryan said, “People didn’t know my name even after Pyaar Ka Punchnama. People only knew me as someone as a monologue guy or who says lines in one breath. No one knew who Kartik Aaryan was. Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 happened and before that, I did Akaash Vani which didn’t work. But, people still called me monologue boy after the sequel too. After seven years after the first film, when Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety was released, that made me reach houses. That people made people recognize me as Kartik Aaryan.”

Kartik was also told that he started acting like he was 'hero number one' after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s success. The actor replied, “I have always seen myself as no. 1, slowly people are also getting to know that and are seeing me like that. But the audience's love is what matters the most to me. I am desperate for their love and only for that am I obsessed with myself and want to give hit films... there's only one Shehzada (prince) in the film industry.”

“I want to create my own line. I have a strong belief system in myself. That has led me this far. I think several times that if a person like me came from Gwalior and became something, then anyone can become something. I have to go even further,” Kartik added, reflecting on how he has succeeded in the industry without having a godfather.

On the professional front, Kartik Aaryan will kick off 2023 with Shehzada. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, and Manisha Koirala, among others. It is a remake of Allu Arjun-starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which was released in 2020. The actor also reunites with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 co-star Kiara Advani in Satyaprem Ki Katha. He has Aashiqui 3, and Kabir Khan’s next.
