EXCLUSIVE: Shehzada debutant Debattama Saha talks about the Kartik Aaryan starrer, reacts on news about joining Kundali Bhagya & more

After Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, and Radhika Madan, another popular TV actress has made her debut on the big screen, and it’s Debattama Saha. Yes! In Shehzada, Debattama plays the role of Kartik Aaryan’s on-screen sister. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Debattama recalled how she bagged the role. On the other hand, she also reacted to the reports claiming that she will be playing the lead after the leap in ZEE TV’s popular show Kundali Bhagya.  Starting from talking about her journey from TV to Bollywood, the 25-year-old actress said, “I got to learn a lot of things. It was full of ups and down. There were times when I thought what am I actually doing? And, you know, there are choices to make sometimes and it gets really difficult at a certain time. I always tried my best that no matter what happen I should not feel low about things. But, after the point, you actually start getting habituated with the scenarios, what's happening with you even if you're feeling low, and then you try to motivate your team and then you try to stand up for each other. That is what I have been trying to do always and it was a bumpy ride, of course, but the little happiness, which you get, after all this hard work has been really tough, and it feels that at least you will get the taste of certain things.”  Sharing the story of bagging a part in the Kartik Aaryan starrer, Saha added, “I got a call for the audition. Though I do had my doubts, I wanted to do it. So just after Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahaani, I got the call. I was like okay let's give the audition and then let's see how it goes. I wanted to experience it in the right way because it is a movie. So, I got a call back for confirmation. Then, I had to go to a meeting and I was all excited and nervous. I had to go to Delhi two or three times. So the overall experience was really good and this was very fresh and new for me.”  When asked to clear the rumours for once and all, Debattama asserted, “I don’t know. There are so many rumours about me. But I only like to say one thing, I don't do anything about it I literally don't. Agar kuch kaam karti hu aagey jaa kar to woh sab ko waise bhi pata chalne wala hai (If I am going to do something, everyone will eventually get to know). I will give the confirmation. But, right now, I don’t know anything, that’s all I can say.”  Coming back to Shehzada, the Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer was released on February 17. The film was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on February 10. Besides Kartik and Kriti, it also features Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manisha Koirala, and Ronit Roy, among others. The Rohit Dhawan directorial is an official Hindi remake of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde’s 2020 release Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.  Also Read: Shehzada: TV actress Debattama Saha expresses gratitude towards fans who showered her with love for her Bollywood debut
