Zeenat Aman slams Dev Anand’s claims of her having inter-personal relationship with Raj Kapoor; says, “I admire and respect Dev Sahab, but this was not correct”

Vetearn Bollywood actress, Zeenat Aman stated on Friday that the late Dev Anand was absolutely incorrect in thinking that she had an inter-personal relationship with Raj Kapoor, a legendary figure in Bollywood. Zeenat recalled the event and stated that this was her opportunity to clarify everything from her end. She said, “Raj had signed me for Satyam Shivam Sundaram and I went there as his about-to-be heroine. I never had an inter-personal relationship (with him), not before that and never after that. It was always a director-actor relation (between us). He was passionate about his work and I was passionate about my work but never did he ask me why I did not wear white. In fact, if you look at it, I have never worn white on his sets or parties. Never has he said 'why didn't you wear white'? With all due respect, ek kahani banane me, hindsight se kuch interesting banane ke liye kuch jumle daal dete hain.” At the ABP event, she said, “Now, I am not sure about the perspective of Dev sahab. Lekin mai haq se kehti hu bilkul galat tha, mai apni kitaab me zarur likhungi. I admire and respect Dev Sahab, but this was not correct.” Talking about marriage, Zeenat also claimed that having a successful married life is difficult for women, particularly female actors in the field. She added that female celebrities frequently make significant compromises for their personal lives. She said, “It is better not to be married than to have a bad marriage. And many people would not know that an actor works very hard to make their marriage work.” She added, “These girls (referring to married actresses) make so many sacrifices, people who are not in the limelight may not do it. They get married because they want to be married. I know quite a lot of girls put up with a lot of things that most girls would not put up with.” Formerly married to actor Sanjay Khan, Zeenat then wed actor Mazhar Khan, who passed away in 1998. Zeenat Aman is an Indian actress and a former model. The Evil Within (1970), starring Dev Anand, marked the former beauty queen's acting debut. She has acted in films like Yaadon Ki Baarat, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Qurbani, Dharam Veer, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Insaaf Ka Tarazu among others.
