Rajshri Productions’ Uunchai, directed by Sooraj R Barjatya and featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani, has been nominated for 7 awards at the prestigious 68th edition of the Filmfare Awards 2023. The nominations include Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor in the Lead Role (Male) - Amitabh Bachchan, Best Supporting Actor (Male) - Anupam Kher, Best Music Album - Amit Trivedi, Best Story - Sunil Gandhi and Best Dialogue - Abhishek Dixit.

Upon reaching this significant milestone, Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to the producer of Uunchai, Mahaveer Jain, who shared valuable insights about the film's making. He said, “We are all elated that Uunchai has received recognition from the prestigious Filmfare Awards. The creative fraternity holds these awards in high regard, and we are grateful for the love and appreciation we have received for the film. We owe the credit for Uunchai's success to our captain, Sooraj R Barjatya, whose unwavering belief in honest storytelling has been truly inspiring.”EXCLUSIVE

Mahaveer Jain further said that “Rajshri Productions is a film company where work is actually worship, and that purity, simplicity, positivity, humanity and humbleness are reflected in each and every aspect of it. Sooraj R Barjatya is a legendary filmmaker who works like a student, with sincerity and openness throughout the entire process. He’s beyond the limitations of race and competition. The producer added, “I would also like to take a moment to express our admiration for Bachchan Saab’s incredible work at his age. Bachchan Saab is a paragon of passion and an inspiration for all of India. He truly is the biggest hero in all senses.”

He also said, “Anupam sir (Anupam Kher) surprises everyone with his gifted talent, and the rest of the extraordinary cast, including Danny sir (Danny Denzongpa), Boman sir (Boman Irani), Neena ji (Neena Gupta), Sarika ji and Parineeti Chopra have been admired and loved by the audience. Also, three cheers to Amit Trivedi and Irshad Kamil for a great music album, Sunil Gandhi for the overwhelming story, Abhishek Dixit for meaningful dialogues, cinematographer Manoj Khatoi, our Production designers, VFX team, editor, Boundless Media and the entire team of Uunchai for excelling in every department during the most challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Finally, Mr Jain congratulated the other film nominees as well, “While only one film or person can receive the trophy, honestly everyone is a winner in their own way”, he said.

The 68th Filmfare Awards 2023 is scheduled to be held on April 27, 2023, at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC in Mumbai.
