Kareena Kapoor Khan asserts she is “a 24/7 mom”; says, “I am 70 percent a mother now, 30 percent actor”

Along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, her children despite being only six and two years old, Taimur and Jeh, have achieved a celebrity status and has got shutterbugs around them almost at every event.

Kareena spoke about her children getting papped. She told Hindustan Times, “We are very open, both Saif (Ali Khan, husband) and me. We as parents have never really hid anything from the media too. My children are photographed because we believe if I give respect, I will get respect. I can’t ask for it, or beg for it. But if I am going to be equal with everybody around me, they will respect our privacy. And honestly, it has worked.”

Kareena further explained that she requests the paparazzi not to take photos of her children when they are at school or with friends, and they honor her request. She believes in establishing a mutual understanding because she values respect and wants to reciprocate it. Additionally, Khan is comfortable sharing pictures of her family frequently.

Kareena added, “I give respect to my fans on Instagram, I let you into my life, maybe not a 100 percent. I make everybody feel involved in my life, and that’s something why my fans are still so involved.”

Since becoming a mother, Kareena's priorities have changed, and she now chooses to take on a restricted amount of work. She said, “I am very hands on, I like to do everything, I am a 24/7 mom. That’s what I have been most of my life, then an actor. I would say I am 70 percent a mother now, 30 percent actor. I do have to follow and do things I love doing as well, like spread awareness about topics such as inculcating reading habits in children.”

Kareena also spoke on how juggling between personal and professional life as a woman. She stated, “Women are just expected to be that, people think ‘she can do it’... of course we can do it. But in today’s time actresses are becoming a lot more vocal, bolder. They are saying ‘it’s not a big deal!’ We also don’t want to be addressed as anything different (or a multitasker).”

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan. The film released on August 11, 2022, and arrived on Netflix on October 6, 2022. She also has the adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X with Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. She has wrapped the shoot for Hansal Mehta's next. She is currently shooting for The Crew with Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
