Kamal Haasan fans celebrate the rerelease of 2006 film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu; videos from theatres go viral

Amid many theatrical releases in Tamil Cinema, theatre owners were surprised to see the kind of massive response a rereleased film has been getting. While this Friday was a busy week for Tamil Cinema with seven releases, along with them, the theatres saw the rerelease of the Kamal Haasan, Jyothika starrer neo noir crime thriller Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The 2006 film not only received a massive response, but fans have been rejoicing and welcoming the Ulaganayakan with equal enthusiasm in theatres.

Video clips from theatres have found its way on social media, as many fans have been posting about the response that Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu has been receiving in theatres. Going by the videos, it seems that the film is running to housefull screens and furthermore, fans even celebrated the rerelease of the film inside the multiplexes. The film, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, features Kamal Haasan in the role of a talented cop who is on a hunt to find the people who killed the daughter of a former high-ranking police official, only to release that his mission has now become a bigger hunt after he realizes that he is now hunting a set of serial killers with psychopathic tendencies.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan is currently gearing up for the much awaited Indian 2 which will see him reprise the avatar of the action-packed vigilante Senapathy. The sequel to the 1996 starrer will feature Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles and it is directed by S Shankar. It is being said that the makers are keen on releasing the film during Pongal 2024 in multiple languages.
