In a heartwarming gesture on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee embarked on a special visit to Jalsa, the Mumbai residence of Bollywood's iconic superstar, Amitabh Bachchan. The visit was punctuated by warm exchanges and captured in endearing photographs shared by the All-India Trinamool Congress on their official Twitter account.

The candid snapshots showcased Mamata Banerjee's amiable rendezvous with the Bachchan clan, including Amitabh Bachchan himself, his wife Jaya Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan, as well as daughters Shweta Nanda and Navya Naveli Nanda. After the warm interaction with the Bachchan family, Mamata Banerjee engaged with the media to share her sentiments. Expressing her joy, she conveyed to ANI, “I am happy today. I met Bharat Ratan of India, Amitabh Bachchan (Mamata Banerjee called Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan Bharat Ratan) and also tied him rakhi. I love this family. They are the number one family in India and they have a lot of contributions also… I also invited him to attend Durga Puja and International Film Festival.”

On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan's cinematic journey continues to captivate audiences. His last appearance was in Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai last year, where he shared the screen with Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, and Parineeti Chopra. The megastar is currently working on various projects, including Kalki 2898 AD helmed by Nag Ashwin, a sci-fi film featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. Simultaneously, Bachchan is set to feature in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84.
