Yoodlee Films’ Agra, starring Rahul Roy and Priyanka Bose, gets applauded at Busan International Film Festival

Award-winning filmmaker Kanu Behl’s Agra, a film about a dysfunctional family’s battle for personal space, was unveiled on October 9 at the ongoing 2023 Busan International Film Festival. The film received applause after its screening. It will be shown again on October 11, 2023 at Lotte Cinema Centum City 3.

Produced by Yoodlee Films, UFO Production and O28 Films, Agra boasts an interesting cast and features Aashiqui star Rahul Roy and Priyanka Bose, who was seen in international projects like Lion, Gangor, and Mortal, debutant Mohit Agarwal, Ruhani Sharma, veteran actors Vibha Chibber, Sonal Jha and Aanchal Goswami.

Thrilled by the rave reviews the film is getting at the festival, Siddharth Anand Kumar, Sr. VP of Films & Event at Saregama India Ltd. said, “This is a film that is not derivative in any sense and stands alone in a space that is its very own. It is provocative, delves into a very raw zone of human psyche and speaks in a very unique cinematic language. Kanu Behl is fast emerging as one of the most important voices in cinema and we are very proud of what he has achieved with Agra.”

Elated by the response the film is receiving at the Busan festival, Kanu Behl said, “I have always believed that what is personal is also most often a universal narrative. This film, I have said repeatedly, is personal to me in many ways but it is also about every person who feels hemmed in. Anyone who has ever faced emotional, psychological and sexual repression will recognise in these characters, a little bit of themselves.”

Agra is written by Kanu Behl and Atika Chohan.
