After Animal’s success bash, Kangana Ranaut questions audience for supporting "violence against women" films; hints at career change

Actress Kangana Ranaut, known for her outspoken views and unapologetic critiques, reignited the debate surrounding Sandeep Reddy Vanga's controversial film Animal.  Following the film's successful box office run and a recent celebratory event, Ranaut's social media post sparked discussion about the responsibility of viewers in choosing movies that may involve sensitive or controversial content.

“The latest trend of films where women are reduced to mere flower on the wall, violently and disgracefully stripped of their dignity and clothes is beyond appalling. Reminds me of the time when I entered films, vulgar item numbers, quick in and out sleazy and dumb roles against older men were prevalent,” read an excerpt of her tweet.

Another excerpt of the Panga actress’ post read, “Said no to big heroes like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor. Not because I had anything personal against them, all for the cause of woman empowerment and today looking at the condition of women in films my heart sinks.” She concluded by asking, “is film industry only to blame for this? Audiences have no participation in this steep regression of women in films?”

The Queen actress’ tweet sparked a conversation in the comments section of her post. “Over the years, Bollywood hasn’t left any stone unturned to humiliate women and show them in lesser capacity as compared to men,” wrote an X user. Meanwhile, another added, “I fully agree with you, mam.” On the other hand, a section of commentators believe that Kangana is trying to create a controversy because her previous releases did not perform well.

Rickman’s advice, which he gave during an old interview, resonated with Chopra, prompting her to post it on her Instagram Stories. In the shared video, Rickman advises aspiring actors to "forget about acting" and instead focus on broadening their horizons and nurturing their imagination. He said, "Go to art galleries, listen to music, know what's happening on the news in the world and form opinions.
