Karan Johar unveils the heartwarming trailer of Love Storiyaan: "Join me as we explore the meaning of real love"

Prime Video today launched the trailer of its upcoming Hindi Amazon Original series Love Storiyaan. Featuring six heart-warming stories of love that have overcome adversity and triumphed against all odds. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the series is conceptualised by Somen Mishra along with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Mishra serving as executive producers and is inspired by stories featured on India Love Project. Each of the episodes in the six-part series is told through the lens of a different director –Akshay Indikar, Archana Phadke, Collin D’Cunha, Hardik Mehta, Shazia Iqbal, and Vivek Soni – each of whom bring their own personal touch to the story.

The trailer opens up with Karan Johar inviting audiences to explore the meaning of love with genuine, heartfelt stories and goes on to introduce real-life couples and give a glimpse into their journey. These diverse narratives of love in its many shades promise to not only engage and immerse one in these special stories but also encourage viewers to look at life from a different perspective, making it an ideal Valentine’s Day watch.

“It has been an exhilarating journey to capture Rahul and Subhadra’s story in Raah Sangharsh Ki. My own background and experiences allowed me to connect to their story at a personal level. Their narrative exemplifies how love sometimes requires the courage to stand up against societal expectations and norms,” said director Akshay Indikar. “As a filmmaker, it gives me great pride to tell their story and be a part of Love Storiyaan. It is a series that will fill one with hope and joy. I am truly looking forward to bringing this story to Prime Video’s customers in India and across the world.”

“As a storyteller, I have always wanted to explore and understand love and I believe it is going to take several films for me to truly understand it! Being a part of Love Storiyaan, exploring this emotion of love with 5 other directors with their own unique perspectives has been a very special experience.” said director Archana Phadke “With my film Faasley I really wanted to understand a love that is resilient. A love that travels across time, across continents, against different forces to survive. In that, I found Dhanya and Homayon’s story, who protected their love against all odds. I believe this story will spread ideas of strength and hope to a wide audience as it did with me.”

“It was very exciting for me to delve into Tista and Dipan's extraordinary love story, which celebrates courage and bravery, and how their transformative journey brought them together,” said director Collin D’Cunha. “My story titled Love Beyond Labels is about defying societal prejudices while preserving their true selves; that is what makes Love Storiyaan a beautiful watch. Somen and I, along with the other directors, wanted to create an emotional and visual mosaic of these real people and their stories, and we hope the viewers can appreciate and relate to them.”

“As a director, it is absolutely enriching to be a part of Love Storiyaan - a series that has allowed me to showcase my unique style of storytelling with gentle humour and heartfelt emotions” said director Hardik Mehta who has directed the segment, A Unsuitable Girl. “I was absolutely moved by Aekta and Ullekh's endearing love story and what stood out most for me was how in a country like India, Love is not always between two people but also about being omnipresent in daily lives between all family members.”

“Through Farida and Sunit’s love story, my co-director Rahul and I explored the intricate nature of romantic relationships, which often defy the simplicity portrayed on screen,” said director Shazia Iqbal. “As we travelled with Farida and Sunit through the charming landscape of Bangladesh, we knew we are making something unique, and their Homecoming will inspire generations to come. Through Love Storiyaan, immortalizing these unique stories of real love has been a momentous journey, and we are thrilled to share these extraordinary stories of regular people like us.”

“As a storyteller, telling a love story is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. Exploring diverse landscapes and cultures brings me immense joy. Meeting Nicholas and Rajani for our anthology was an extraordinary experience,” says director Vivek Soni “My intention was to go beyond filmmaking; to connect with the couple and traverse, along with them, their journey thus far, and it was truly beautiful. Prime Video and Dharmatic Entertainment's endeavor to create a safe space for stories and storytellers is a testament to how the medium has evolved in recent years. I feel honored to have the opportunity to tell Nicholas and Rajani’s story with Love On Air, and I am proud to play a small part in sharing their extraordinary journey with the world.”
