Amitabh Bachchan pays touching tribute to mother Teji Bachchan on Mother's Day: “Maa! Humara pehla sabd jo hum bolte hai, aur jo…”

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan marked International Mother’s Day with a poignant tribute to all mothers, including his own. On Sunday, May 12, as the world celebrated the occasion with affection and reverence, Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media handle to share a soulful homage.

The actor posted a heartfelt clip featuring a poem dedicated to mothers. Originally shared during the filming of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan reposted the emotional moment, infusing Mother’s Day 2024 with even more significance as he reminisced about his own mother. The clip also featured a nostalgic childhood picture of the actor with his beloved mother.

Amitabh Bachchan expressed the profound sentiment behind the tribute in his accompanying note, writing, “Maa! Humara pehla sabd jo hum bolte hai, aur jo anant tak rehta hai” (Mother! The first word that we speak, and also the one that lasts forever!). This poignant reflection resonated deeply with his fans, who flooded the comment section with heartfelt reactions.

Amitabh Bachchan's reverence for his parents, particularly his mother, Teji Bachchan, is well-known. While his father, celebrated poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, passed away in 2002, his mother left an indelible mark on his life before her demise in 2007.

The veteran actor was not alone in commemorating the day. Several other Bollywood celebrities joined in, sharing touching messages and nostalgic anecdotes about their mothers. Actress Kajol shared a candid moment with her mother Tanuja, adding a humorous touch with the caption, “Weird moms build character! At least that’s what I’ve heard. Don’t worry, mom... I will continue with our happy tradition.”

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt reminisced about his late mother, Nargis, with a nostalgic and emotional post.
