EXCLUSIVE: Mr & Mrs Mahi star Janhvi Kapoor reveals secret to perfect partnership: “Surround yourself with people that think highly of you”

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is busy promoting her upcoming film Mr & Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao. This marks her second outing with the actor after Roohi. In a sit-down chat with Bollywood Hungama, the actress spoke at length about the movie, the plot and the key to finding success.

Janhvi Kapoor said, “I think it's very easy to say just follow your heart and follow your dreams. I think a lot of our story is also about two people who, because of life, because of their upbringing, because of the environment didn't have the courage to do that. They gave each other the courage to do that. So if you have the strength and the will to find that courage and self-belief by yourself, that's great. I don't know if I can do that. But it always helps to have someone who believes in you. I know, even in my life, the minute I started surrounding myself with people who think of me a certain way, I feel like I need to live up to that, as opposed to people who think that this person is nothing. You also start looking at yourself in that way. But when you surround yourself with people who think highly of you, that belief reflects in yourself as well. So find yourself a partner like Mahi.”

Mr. & Mrs. Mahi boasts an impressive ensemble cast beyond the lead actors. Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab, and Purnendu Bhattacharya all play pivotal roles in the film.

Directed by Sharan Sharma, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is backed by Hiroo Yash Johar. Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta of Dharma Productions. The film arrives in theatres on May 31, 2024. This film marks the second collaboration between Kapoor and Rao, following their appearance in the 2021 horror-thriller Roohi.

For Janhvi Kapoor, the future holds the romantic comedy film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari where she shares screen space with Varun Dhawan. She is also venturing into Telugu cinema with her debut in Devara: Part 1 opposite Jr. NTR, followed by an untitled film alongside Ram Charan.
