Kareena Kapoor Khan describes Singham Again as ‘male testosterone movie’: “Deepika Padukone and I have very strong parts”

Kareena Kapoor Khan is having a stellar year! After kicking off 2024 with the box office hit Crew, the actress is gearing up for two highly anticipated releases – Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murders and Rohit Shetty's action extravaganza Singham Again. In a recent interview with Variety, Kareena spoke about her experience of filming Crew and hinted at the possibility of a sequel. Kareena, along with Tabu and Kriti Sanon, delivered a powerful performance as flight attendants caught in a daring heist.

But Kareena's sights are now set on the upcoming big-budget entertainer Singham Again. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film boasts a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and of course, Kareena herself. Describing it as a "completely male testosterone movie," she assures fans that both she and Deepika Padukone have "very strong parts" to play. Kareena said, “There’s Deepika (Padukone) and me in the film, where we have very strong parts. But obviously it’ll be really different, it is the big ticket Bollywood bonanza for this year, and I’m sure people will enjoy that.”

In an earlier interview with BBC Asian Network, she playfully dodged questions about sharing screen space with the other actresses in the film, stating, “I'm sure that's part of the surprise of the film that you guys have to watch!”

Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Shetty is now eyeing Diwali 2024 release date for Singham Again and will push from Independence Day 2024 release, making way for Pushpa 2: The Rule. "Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, and the team have been shooting day and night for Singham Again with the will to bring it during the August 15, 2024 weekend. However, the shoot is taking longer than expected as a film like Singham Again requires a lot of attention. Rohit and Ajay don't want to rush through the proceedings only to make it to a certain release date. They want the scale and vision to come out exactly as fleshed on the paper without any compromise," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

Rohit and Ajay have already conveyed their idea of delaying the film to Jio Studios and the date of August 15 is now vacant. "Jio has suggested a Diwali 2024 release to Rohit and Ajay, and the duo is also considering the date. The timelines of VFX and background score are now being reworked keeping the Diwali 2024 deadline in mind. Diwali has also proved to be lucky for Ajay and Rohit combo," the source told us.

An official announcement about the new release date of Singham Again is expected to be made shortly, but at the moment, the film is 100% pushed from the already announced date of August 15, 2024.
