Savi trailer launch: Divya Khossla says she was badly hurt on her face during the shoot: “Anil Kapoor told me, ‘Meri life ka experience hai. Whenever a heroine in my film gets injured, that movie turns out to be a hit’”

The trailer launch of Savi was held yesterday, May 21, at a multiplex in Mumbai and was attended by lead actor Divya Khossla, director Abhinay Deo and producer Mukesh Bhatt. Divya raised laughs as she talked about a funny incident, involving her co-star Anil Kapoor.

Divya Khosla Kumar said, “I have met Anil sir off the set many times. But I remember the day I met him on the set. That was the day when I shot an action scene. The fighter caught me by the collar and threw me. I banged on an iron grill and my face got damaged. It was the tenth day of the shoot. And this is how I have shot the film (with the scar). Meri ek cheekh thodi upar hai!”

She added, “I was crying. I, anyway, am a cry baby! This is when Anil sir walked in. He was a familiar person to me. It seemed like someone from my family had arrived. Hence, I started crying even more. I was in pain and I feared that my face would be permanently damaged. I started wondering how would I work as an artist in future. It was 2:30 am.”

She then said, “Anil sir saw my injury and remarked, ‘Picture hit hai’! I looked at him (and was confused). He explained, ‘I am 68 years old. Meri life ka experience hai. Whenever a heroine in my film gets injured, that movie turns out to be a hit’ (laughs)! I am wondering ‘I have got hurt. There is a mark on my face. Aur sir yahan hit ki baat kar rahe hai. Mujhe usme koi interest hi nahin hai. Bas mera chehra theek ho jaaye!’”

She further stated, “I have some mazedaar scenes with Anil sir. Hamari chemistry bahut acchi hai. The passion he would get on the set; he was quite inspirational. His role is the surprise package of the film. As you saw in the trailer, we have not revealed him completely. Humne unko chhupa ke rakha hai.”

Savi releases in cinemas on May 31.
