Alia Bhatt praises Jigra filmmaker Vasan Bala’s unique style; says, “As a filmmaker, the way he writes and thinks is amazing”

Alia Bhatt has a hectic schedule ahead of her, with shoots and releases. The actor, who previously appeared in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Heart of Stone, will next be seen in Jigra, which also stars Vedang Raina. In an exclusive interview with News18.com, Alia revealed a few insights about Vasan Bala's future film.

Alia said, “It is releasing on October 11, and what I can tell you about it is that it is releasing on October 11, 2024 (laughs). I had a wonderful time working with Vasan Bala. I have such fond memories of working with him, and we are still working on it because post-production is ongoing. He has got the perfect balance of cool and nostalgia.”

Speaking of working with Vasan Bala, she added, “You’ll see so many Easter eggs in his films and in Jigra as well. In fact, it used to be like a discovery for me every time I walked onto the set. He has this grounding, old-soul sort of quality, yet he is also so edgy and cool. As a filmmaker, the way he writes and thinks is amazing. I had a blast working with him.”

The film also represents her debut collaboration with newcomer Vedang Raina. When asked about working with The Archies actor, she stated, “Vedang is just sublime. He plays my brother in the film. I am not going to say much about the relationship we share in the film, but I can definitely say that we had a very seamless, easy-going work relationship.”

Besides Jigra, Alia is also working on an action-packed spy thriller with Yash Raj Films. That's not all; she'll soon begin filming Love & War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, reuniting with her husband Ranbir Kapoor and Raazi co-star Vicky Kaushal. Ranbir and Bhansali will also reunite in the film 17 years after Saawariya.
