Malaika Arora opens up about co-parenting son Arhaan with ex-husband Arbaaz Khan: "Initially it was a little…"

Malaika Arora recently shared insights into co-parenting her son Arhaan with ex-husband Arbaaz Khan, following their divorce in 2017. In an interview with Hello Magazine, Malaika revealed that the initial phase of co-parenting was challenging. She candidly discussed how they had to navigate the complexities of their new dynamic to ensure it did not negatively impact their son.

Finding a balance

Over time, Malaika and Arbaaz have established a successful co-parenting routine. "For whatever it’s worth, touch wood, we’ve found a great balance now. Perhaps initially it was a little tricky. And rightly so — because that’s just how life is," Malaika said. She emphasized that despite their differences, they were committed to ensuring their son's well-being. They have developed a harmonious way to share parenting responsibilities, focusing on what’s best for Arhaan.

Instilling values in Arhaan

Malaika also spoke about the importance of instilling good values in Arhaan, ensuring he remains grounded despite his privileges. She stressed the significance of Arhaan learning to be self-reliant and respectful. "Most importantly, I wanted Arhaan to have respect for others and have a sense of being able to do things on his own without relying on the privileges he has," Malaika explained. She and Arbaaz have always encouraged their son to pursue independence in his thoughts and actions, both financially and emotionally.

Arhaan's ventures and personal growth

Arhaan, who was born in 2002, has begun to carve his own path. Earlier this year, he launched his vodcast, Dumb Biryani, which featured an episode with Malaika. In the vodcast, they discussed various topics, from sex and marriage to personal growth. This new venture highlights Arhaan’s initiative and independence, values his parents have worked hard to instil.

Moving forward with new relationships

Since their divorce, both Malaika and Arbaaz have moved on to new relationships. Arbaaz is now married to makeup artist Sshura Khan, while Malaika has been dating actor Arjun Kapoor for a few years. Despite these changes, their primary focus remains their son Arhaan and ensuring he grows up with the right values and support from both parents.
