Aayush Sharma recalls when his father refused to financially help for his marriage to Arpita Khan: “My parents were concerned about my…”

Aayush Sharma opened up about his parents' initial reactions to his decision to marry Arpita Khan, Salman Khan's sister. During a podcast with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya, Aayush shared that his parents, Anil Sharma and Sunita Sharma, were initially apprehensive about his marriage plans. He revealed, "I was just 24 years old and working hard to make my place in the industry. My parents were concerned about my decision to marry Arpita at that time."

Financial worries

Aayush's father, Anil Sharma, questioned his ability to manage the expenses of marrying into a wealthy family. Aayush recalled his father's words, “You don’t work, you’re not earning money, and yet you want to marry a girl who comes from a wealthy family. How will you manage her expenses?” Despite Aayush's request for financial help, his father declined due to his apprehensions about the situation. This decision was rooted in a desire to see his son become self-sufficient.

Concerns about family compatibility

Aayush also shared that his mother, Sunita Sharma, was worried about whether the two families would get along well. However, these concerns were alleviated after Aayush introduced Arpita to his family. His parents were moved by the values of the Khan family, which led to a gradual fondness between the families. "My father soon accepted Arpita as his daughter-in-law after meeting her and her family," Aayush said.

Assurance from Salman Khan

Another turning point was when Aayush's parents met Salman Khan. Aayush recalled his mother's reaction upon meeting Salman, "Yeh to bohot good looking hai." When Aayush's father asked Arpita if she would be comfortable moving from Bandra to Mandi, Salman intervened and assured them that Arpita would follow Aayush wherever he goes. This assurance played a crucial role in easing his parents' concerns.

A love story blossoms

Aayush and Arpita's love story began at a mutual friends' party in Mumbai in 2011. Their friendship gradually turned into love, culminating in a grand wedding in Hyderabad in 2014. Today, they are happily married and blessed with two adorable children. Aayush's journey from initial parental apprehension to acceptance highlights the importance of understanding and family support in personal decisions.
