Farhan Akhtar ADMITS slipping into depression after the failure of Lakshya: “I hadn't worked so hard the way…”

Bollywood's versatile star, Farhan Akhtar, recently shared a candid account of the emotional turmoil he experienced following the underperformance of his directorial venture, Lakshya.

The Making of Lakshya: A Labor of Love Known for his ability to juggle acting, directing, singing, and producing, Farhan Akhtar's journey in the film industry is nothing short of inspiring. After the resounding success of Dil Chahta Hai, the filmmaker embarked on his next project, Lakshya, starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.

Farhan poured his heart and soul into the film, immersing himself in the world of the Indian Army to capture the essence of their lives and challenges. “I was convinced that in my entire life, I hadn't worked so hard the way I did for this film,” he confessed in a recent interview. The Bitter Taste of Failure Despite the immense effort and dedication, Lakshya failed to resonate with audiences. The film's underperformance plunged Farhan into a deep state of depression. “Mein itna depressed hua tha ki yaar kaise ho gaya? Itni mehnat maine ki, Dil Chahta Hai mein hardly mehnat ki thi,” he shared. The filmmaker revealed that it took him a year and a half to recover from the emotional setback.
