Gangs Of Wasseypur re-release EXCLUSIVE: CBFC replaced 'Hum iski maiyaa c**d denge' with 'Kaat ke rakh denge saale ko'; also replaced 'Bengali log' with 'Kuch log'

Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012), the much-loved two-part film series by Anurag Kashyap, is re-released in cinemas on August 30. Around 33 theatres of Miraj Cinemas across the country will be showing both the first part as well as the second part at discounted prices and this has become a talking point on social media. Due to its violent and adult theme, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) awarded both parts with an ‘A’ certificate. Bollywood Hungama has now learned about the cuts given by the CBFC in 2012.

Gangs Of Wasseypur - Part 1 was handed over the censor certificate on June 14, 2012. Three cuts were imposed on the film. The dialogue ‘uda iski maa ka b****a’ was ‘scratched’. The dialogue 'Hum iski maiyaa c**d denge' was replaced with 'Kaat ke rakh denge saale ko'. Lastly, the sentence 'Yeh Bengali log apni auraton ko...' was replaced with 'Kuch log apni auraton ko...'

That’s not all. A lengthy disclaimer was asked to be added in English, Hindi and Urdu, stating, “Wasseypur is an actual place located in Dhanbad, a district of Jharkhand (erstwhile Bihar). Though the place is based on real incidents, widely reported in the media, it is a fictionalized account of the same. Names and timelines have been changed and the related incidents have been fictionalized for dramatic purposes. The film has NOT been shot in the real locations of Wasseypur.”

Gangs Of Wasseypur - Part 2, meanwhile, was censored on July 30, 2012. It got four modifications. The knife-piercing sound was muted. Two shots were removed - one in the beheading scene and the other in the scene where a man hits a rock. Lastly, 'I swear on your w***e mother' was changed to 'I swear on your mother' in the subtitles. And yet again, the lengthy disclaimer was asked to be added.

Gangs Of Wasseypur - Part 1 is a story of Sardar Khan (Manoj Bajpayee), son of Shahid Khan (Jaideep Ahlawat). Shahid is killed by Ramadhir Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia) and Sardar attempts to exact revenge from the latter. The first part ends with Sardar's death. Gangs Of Wasseypur - Part 2 takes the story forward as Faizal Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is given charge of the operations and attempts to kill Ramadhir.

Besides Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the Gangs Of Wasseypur series also starred Richa Chadha, Piyush Mishra, Reema Sen, Huma Qureshi, Jameel Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Zeishan Quadri, Vipin Sharma, Anurita Jha and many others.

Priyanka Chopra finds inspiration in Alan Rickman's acting advice

Rickman’s advice, which he gave during an old interview, resonated with Chopra, prompting her to post it on her Instagram Stories. In the shared video, Rickman advises aspiring actors to "forget about acting" and instead focus on broadening their horizons and nurturing their imagination. He said, "Go to art galleries, listen to music, know what's happening on the news in the world and form opinions. Develop your taste and judgment so that when a quality piece of writing is put in front of you, your imagination, which you've nurtured, has something to bounce off of."
