Inside the birthday bash of Shabana Azmi: Dia Mirza shares special moments with Vidya Balan, Richa Chadha and others; Farah Khan Kunder shares a quirky video

Shabana Azmi recently celebrated her birthday with her girl squad which included a host of actresses from the industry like Dia Mirza, Urmila Matondkar, Vidya Balan, her daughter-in-law Shibani Dandekar, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, Anjali Dinesh Anand, Farah Khan Kunder, Shabana’s sister Tanvi Azmi, among many others. Several photos and videos were shared on the social media platforms by the actresses who also penned sweet notes about the fun celebration.

Interestingly, the occasion was made memorable not just because it was the birthday of Shabana Azmi but also because the award-winning yesteryear star completed 50 years in the Hindi film industry. As a way of commemorating both, the decorations were done as per these occasions with her friends also calling for a three-tier cake showcasing a glimpse of her 50 Years in cinema. In a series of interesting group photos shared by Dia Mirza, the actress not only penned a birthday note for Azmi but she also revealed details of the other guests present at the bash which also included Richa’s actor-husband Ali Fazal, actresses like Sandya Mridul, Konkana Sen Sharma, Divya Dutta, Shahana Goswami, Tannishtha Chatterjee, among others who weren’t a part of the picture.

Dia Mirza wrote in her message, “Happy Birthday Shabana Amma ?????? You are our inspiration, our cheerleader and the glue that holds us together. We are so lucky to call you our own. As you complete 50 years in cinema this month please know that you are deeply cherished. Thank you for being the absolute best. We love you @azmishabana18” She went on to add, “Thank you @mantagoyal for a wonderful evening! Thank you @alifazal9 for the photos and the mad video! May we always laugh together ?? Apart from Dia, Farah Khan Kunder, who was also a part of these celebrations shared a fun video celebrating Shabana Azmi who was more than happy to flaunt her fun-goofy side. Meanwhile, she was greeted by other guests at the bash like Urmila Matondkar and Vidya Balan. Sharing it on her Instagram page, Farah wrote, “Here with 2 of the best dancers in Bollywood!! @azmishabana18 n @balanvidya .. n oh.. there s also @urmilamatondkarofficial ?? happy birthday Shabana <3”.

For the unversed, Shabana Azmi made her Bollywood debut with the film Ankur in 1974 and her last release recently were 2023, namely Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Ghoomer. The actress, in her span of 50 years in the industry, has five National Awards including one for her debut, followed by the Civilian Honor like Padma Shri in 1988 and later, received Padma Bhushan in 2012.
