Sana Khan shares her desire for twins and the heartwarming story behind naming her son Tariq Jamil

During a recent podcast with Rubina Dilaik, Sana Khan shared her heartfelt desire to have twins. She revealed that after hearing Rubina had twins, she couldn’t help but feel a little envious. "Maine bola Allah aapne mujhe twins kyun nahin diya," she said, expressing her initial wish. However, Sana acknowledged that managing one baby is a big task in itself, saying that she now realizes, "God's plans are better than humans."

Naming her son Tariq Jamil: A story of admiration

Sana Khan shared a beautiful story behind her son’s name, Tariq Jamil. She revealed that she had long admired Muslim scholar Tariq Jamil, listening to his preachings even before she transitioned out of showbiz. Sana explained, "I used to listen to Jamil's preachings and loved and admired his thoughts on life and his persona." She added that her husband, Mufti Anas, had helped her meet the scholar. Impressed by his humility and lack of judgment towards her, Sana knew she wanted to name her son after him. “He rather asked me about what’s happening in my industry, which left me in disbelief,” she recalled.

Tariq Jamil’s role in her marriage

In another moving part of the conversation, Sana revealed that the scholar Tariq Jamil had also played a key role in her marriage. Long before she and Anas were married, Jamil initiated the marriage proposal. Reflecting on that pivotal moment, she mentioned how grateful she is to the scholar for setting the foundation of her union with Anas. It is a bond that led her to honor Jamil by naming her son after him, wishing that he would grow up with the same virtues she admired in the scholar.

Navigating motherhood and responsibility

Sana also spoke about the immense responsibility she feels as a new mother, sharing how she is constantly striving to be the best version of herself for her son. She acknowledged the pressure, especially knowing that her child will grow up surrounded by many people. She was clear, however, that she will never blindly support her child if he makes a mistake. “I know he will be around many people when he grows up, but I’ll never support my child if he makes a mistake,” Sana stated, emphasizing the importance of strong values.

Anas and her spiritual transformation

Towards the end of the conversation, Sana reflected on how her husband Anas inspired her spiritual transformation. She recalled a moment during a car ride when Anas spoke about the late Muslim scholar Junaid Jamshed and prayed for his afterlife. "Mere zehan mey koi bhi nahin aaya," she said, admitting that she couldn’t think of anyone in her life who would pray for her in that way. It was then that she realized she needed people like Anas around her, guiding her towards a deeper, more spiritual life. This realization also made her accept the proposal that Tariq Jamil had made for their marriage two years earlier.
