Anees Bazmee REACTS to reports of fallout with Shahid Kapoor due to creative differences: “It’s very tough for me to change my ways after…”

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has finally addressed reports of a fallout with actor Shahid Kapoor, which surfaced after their untitled comedy project was reportedly shelved due to creative differences. Bazmee has now broken his silence on the matter, shedding light on their relationship and the potential revival of the project.

Anees Bazmee on Working With Shahid Kapoor Again Bazmee revealed that he still holds the untitled film close to his heart and hasn’t ruled out working with Kapoor again. “I still have that film in my mind. I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun working with Shahid. He’s very good! Why shouldn’t I work with him again? Mujhe kisi se na dushmani hai na naaraazgi,” said Bazmee during a chat with News18.

“When you make a film, there should be an agreement between two people. In an ideal situation, you’ve to be honest with one another in terms of expectations. This is the only way to get rid of any kind of confusion. I’ve a certain style of working that makes me feel comfortable, and it’s very tough for me to change my ways after so many years,” he explained. Creative Differences and Alignment Reflecting on the earlier differences with Kapoor, Bazmee shared, “Shahid, in the same way, has his own way of working and thinking. Sometimes, two thought processes may not align, but that’s completely alright. It’s okay to not work together in a situation like that. If we can align our sensibilities, we’ll definitely work again.”

Despite their creative differences, Bazmee asserted that his personal equation with Kapoor remains intact. “That hasn’t impacted our equation in any way. Whenever he meets me, he talks to me with a lot of love and respect. I have the same amount of love in my heart for him. But the one thing that I can tell you is that when we come together again, we’ll definitely make a great film.”

The film, initially set to star Kapoor alongside Rashmika Mandanna, was supposed to begin production in August 2023. However, Kapoor’s exit led to speculation about tensions between the two.
