Sreejita De once again marries Michael-Blohm Pape in a traditional Bengali ceremony in Goa

Sreejita De, who impressed audiences with her performances in Miley Jab Hum Tum, Uttaran, the Shraddha Kapoor starrer Luv Ka The End, and later with her stint in Bigg Boss 16, decided to marry Michael Blohm Pape last year in a low-key Christian wedding after being engaged to him for a while. The actress has now decided to get remarried to him, this time in a traditional Indian manner. The couple also hosted a series of pre-wedding functions like Mehendi and Haldi before tying the knot on November 15 in Goa.

Sreejita De and Michael Blohm Pape hosted a beautiful wedding ceremony in Goa where they followed several Indian traditions from Dulha arriving with a baarat on a decorated bike to the bride dancing her way to the mandap with her loved ones holding ‘phoolon ki chaadar’ (blanket of flowers), to the two taking pheras. Sharing a series of photos from this dreamy Bengali affair, Sreejita De has also shared glimpses of several marriage rituals including that of Bidaai. The actress went on to caption it saying, “Cherished for life, taken forever…” Several fans and well-wishers of the actress dropped their congratulatory wishes on social media. Sreejita opted for a quintessential Bengal bride look in red saree whereas Michael complimented her look in an ivory white sherwani.

For her Mehendi ceremony, Sreejita opted for a quirky unconventional look in a colour-blocked draped skirt and a matching full-sleeves biker style jacket. She opted for a gold sequined bloused to pair up with the two and statement earrings completed this interesting bridal attire. Whereas, Michael complimented in white kurta, matching dhoti and an ethnic long embroidered jacket.

In an interview with ETimes, Sreejita De had opened up about the reason behind opting for Goa asserting that she wanted both ceremonies – Catholic and Bengali style Hindu wedding because she wanted to honor both their backgrounds. “We spent almost eight months together in Goa during the lockdown. We realised we didn’t need to go out or do anything elaborate to be happy we were content just being together. Michael loves the Goan vibe, the food, the lifestyle, and we’re both beach people, so a beach wedding felt perfect," she said in the report.
