Akshay Kumar rocks the show at Pintu Ki Pappi trailer launch; applauds Ganesh Acharya for releasing the film on Ik-kiss Feb; talks about the song 'Bala': "Mehnat iski thi, steps iske the. Faayda mujhe hua"

Akshay Kumar was the chief guest at the trailer launch of Ganesh Acharya’s production Pintu Ki Pappi. The star was shooting for Housefull 5 and took out time to attend the launch for Ganesh, whom he considers a very close friend. As expected, Akshay brought the house down with his humour.

Akshay Kumar began by saying, “Meri awaaz baithi hui hai. I am here for my film and for my friend. Master ji (Ganesh Acharya) and I have been friends for 30 long years. He got his first break with me.”

This is when Ganesh Acharya interrupted and mentioned the name of the film, “Maidaan-E-Jung (1995).” To which Akshay jokingly asked him, “Main bol lu?”

He continued, “Yes, Maidaan-E-Jung was his first film. And now, I guess he must have done 700-800 songs?”

Ganesh Acharya replied, “No. I have choreographed 7000-8000 songs!” Akshay Kumar was stunned for a minute and then added, “So, this man has worked on 7000-8000 songs. He has won two National Awards. One of them was for a song in my film, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017). Yeh bahut hi behtareen, dilchasp aadmi hai. Whenever he orders me, I can't say ‘No’ to him. Even he has always been available for me.”

Talking about the film, Akshay Kumar quipped, “The idea of Pintu Ki Pappi is that if the protagonist kisses someone, that girl will get married. This idea is from his personal life.”

As expected, it led to laughter. Akshay then explained, “Take any song that he choreographed for me. For instance, take 'Bala' from Housefull 4 (2019). Mehnat iski thi, steps iske the. Faayda mujhe hua. Many other actors also benefited more than him though it was he who gave the steps. Similarly, in this film, mehnat iss aadmi ki hoti hai. Lekin faayda kisi aur ko hota hai! Hence proved that Master ji got the idea from his own life and hence, we should all clap for him.” As expected, there was applause in the theatre.

Pintu Ki Pappi releases on February 21, 2025. On the release date, Akshay Kumar remarked, “Look at this man's brain. He has made a film on Pappi and releasing it on Ik-kiss!”

When Akshay asked the choreographer if there was anything left to be said, Ganesh Acharya joked, “Pappi de de.” Akshay Kumar smiled and replied, “Bakwaas bandh kar!”

Also present at the event were actors Shushant and Jaanyaa Joshi, producer Vidhi Acharya, writer-director Shiv Hare and additional dialogue writer Farhad Samji.
