EXCLUSIVE: Atlee on casting Varun Dhawan in Baby John, “I needed a protagonist who could bond with the baby and show the depth of fatherhood”

The actor along with his co-stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Keethy Suresh, director Kalees and producer Atlee sat down for an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama.

Co-Stars and Director Praise Varun Dhawan’s Versatility and Charisma Wamiqa, his co-star in the film, expressed her admiration for Varun's on-set demeanor, saying, “Varun is very fun and a supportive co-actor. He brings so much energy and warmth to every scene, making it a joy to work alongside him.” Atlee, the director of Baby John, praised Varun for his versatility and ability to connect with the baby on screen. “Varun, you are like a baby,” Atlee said with a smile. “Your natural charm and innocence helped create a bond that feels incredibly real. I needed a protagonist who could bond with the baby and show the depth of fatherhood, and Varun was the perfect choice for that.” Kalees, another key member of the film, highlighted Varun’s energetic and quick approach to his work. “Varun is very energetic and quick on his feet,” Kalees shared. “His action skills are unmatched, and he has the kind of charisma that makes him a commercial superstar. It’s this blend of energy and versatility that makes him stand out in any role.”
