Sonu Sood reveals Chiranjeevi’s reaction to Fateh trailer ahead of its clash with Ram Charan’s Game Changer: “He said, ‘I would love to promote this film’”

As the new year kicks off in 2025, a major box office clash looms with Sonu Sood’s Fateh and Ram Charan’s Game Changer releasing on the same day, January 10. While some might view this as a competition, Sonu Sood remains unfazed and optimistic, stating that good films always find their audience.

Chiranjeevi Extends Support to Fateh In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Sonu Sood shared a memorable encounter with veteran actor Chiranjeevi, who expressed enthusiasm for Fateh. “I recently met Chiranjeevi sir at the airport lounge in Bangalore. When he saw the trailer of Fateh and the rushes, he said that it’s something he has never seen before!” Sonu recalled.

According to Sonu, Chiranjeevi went a step further, offering his support despite Game Changer featuring his son, Ram Charan. “(Chiranjeevi) said, ‘I would love to promote this film. Tell me when we can do it.’ He wanted to do something very big for Fateh. And this is what cinema is all about. It’s about loving each other. I wish them all the best. May Game Changer be a game-changer for them,” he added. The Philosophy Behind the Clash Sonu Sood remains positive about the clash, noting that the box office has room for multiple successes. “Good films will always do well. There are hundreds of examples where two or three films have released on the same day and they’ve all done well,” he said.

While acknowledging the buzz surrounding other films like Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, Sonu stressed the importance of focusing on storytelling. “More than Pushpa 2 raising the bar for all of us, it has reiterated the importance of putting in effort and doing one’s job sincerely,” he stated. “Tomorrow, you shouldn’t be looking back and regretting the things that you could’ve done but didn’t.” Fateh: A Labour of Love Fateh marks Sonu Sood’s debut as a writer, director, and producer, a journey that took three years to come to fruition. Reflecting on his decision to step behind the camera, Sonu shared, “All these years, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with different directors and actors – across many languages – who taught me the ropes of the craft. When I thought that I was equipped enough to make my own film, I dived into it.”

He added, “I didn’t want to become a filmmaker when I came to Mumbai, but I wanted to showcase myself in a particular way. I always felt I could do better. So, I thought, why not write and direct my own film?” Game Changer: A Star-Studded Rival On the other hand, Game Changer features Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, directed by Shankar and produced by Dil Raju. The film has generated significant anticipation and is poised to draw massive crowds.
