Kangana Ranaut requests Shreya Ghoshal to perform on Raaz 2 romantic melody ‘Soniyo’; actress gets nostalgic

The Mohit Suri directorial horror drama Raaz 2 aka Raaz: The Mystery Continues, a spiritual sequel to the 2002 film, definitely played a key role in defining the career of Kangana Ranaut. The actress, who is in the midst of Emergency promotions, recalled memories of this Adhyayan Suman, Emraan Hashmi starrer, when she met Shreya Ghoshal on the sets of the music reality show Indian Idol 15.

The actress was seen enjoying the performances of contestants and while showcasing her admiration towards their music talents, Kangana Ranaut addressed the audience sharing how Shreya ‘ma’am’ had sang the song ‘Soniyo’ in her film Raaz: The Mystery Continues and requested her to do the same live on national television. Amid audiences cheering, Shreya started the song with Kangana joining in and lip syncing her lines. The contestant Biswarup Banerjee also joined and sang the part which was originally sung by Sonu Nigam in the film.

About Raaz 2: The Mystery Continues

While the film was appreciated by the audience, it gained immense momentum for its music with its songs topping the charts. Being one of the most popular albums even twenty years later, Raaz 2’s music was composed by many musicians, including Raju Singh, Shaarib- Toshi, Gourov Dasgupta, and Pranay.M.Rijia.

Kangana Ranaut gears up for the release of Emergency

The highly-awaited film is a political biographical drama set against the backdrop of the 70s with Kangana essaying the role of India’s only female Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It also boasts of an extensive ensemble supporting cast that includes the likes of Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, among others in key roles. After experiencing several delays, the film will finally hit cinemas on January 17, 2025.
