“Shah Rukh Khan forever” says Chris Martin at Coldplay's Mumbai concert, fans go wild

The second Coldplay concert in India, held in Mumbai on Sunday, January 19, has become the talk of the town. Among the photos and videos circulating online, one clip has stood out. It captures Chris Martin giving a special shoutout to Shah Rukh Khan.

In the viral video, the crowd erupted with excitement as Chris Martin acknowledged Shah Rukh Khan. Before performing a song, he declared, “Shah Rukh Khan forever,” sending fans into a frenzy.

Chris Martin has been grabbing attention in India for his thoughtful gestures during the Coldplay concerts. On Saturday, January 19, he left fans in awe by speaking in Hindi during the show. Expressing his excitement about performing in Mumbai, he said, “Good evening everybody. Aap sabka bohot swagat hai. Mumbai mein aakar humein bohot Khushi ho rahi hai (Welcome everyone. We are very happy to be in Mumbai),” The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, thrilled by his effort to connect in their language.

He expressed the band’s excitement, mentioning how thrilled they were to perform their first full-fledged show in India. “We are so happy to be here. This is our first real show in India. Som thank you. Namaste,” he said, delighting the audience.

Videos from Coldplay's Mumbai concert have surfaced on social media, offering a glimpse of the spectacular event to those who couldn’t attend. The band launched their much-awaited Music of the Spheres World Tour with performances at D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18 and 19. They are also set to perform in Mumbai again on January 21, 2025, followed by shows at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26, 2025. These concerts mark Coldplay’s return to India since their 2016 Global Citizen Festival performance.
