Ayesha Jhulka laughs off link-up rumors with Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and others: “How many affairs can one have at the same time?

Veteran actress Ayesha Jhulka recently opened up about the widespread link-up rumors that surrounded her during her prime. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar actress shared her thoughts on being labeled “the most controversial newcomer” and addressed reports claiming she was dating multiple Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Armaan Kohli, simultaneously.

“My Mother Never Left Me Alone” During the conversation, Ayesha expressed her frustration over the baseless rumors that often made headlines in film magazines. She revealed that her parents, especially her mother, always accompanied her on film sets, making the alleged affairs impossible. “First thing I’ll tell you, my mother has never left me alone, not a single day. Either she or my dad was always there on set. There was no way I was left alone, as they always knew what was correct and what was not,” she clarified. “How Many Affairs Can One Have at the Same Time?” Addressing the claims that she was romantically involved with multiple co-stars at once, Ayesha laughed off the absurdity of the reports. “How many affairs can one possibly have at the same time? I remember reading an article where, in one month alone, I was linked to four different actors on four different film sets. I thought, ‘Wow, too much demand!’” she joked. The actress admitted that initially, these rumors would bother her, but over time, she learned to take them in her stride. “No One Wrote About the Fun We Had” Ayesha also pointed out the biased nature of media coverage at the time, noting that while tabloids were quick to report romantic link-ups, they rarely covered the genuine friendships and fun moments shared between co-stars. “Why don’t you write about the fun times we had? The cast would bond and enjoy time together, but only link-up stories made it to the magazines,” she remarked. “Mithun Da Is My Senior, It Was Embarrassing” One of the most surprising rumors Ayesha had to deal with was being linked to Mithun Chakraborty, who she considers a senior. “Sometimes, it’s very embarrassing. Someone recently told me, ‘You were linked with Mithun Da,’ and I was like, ‘Please think before saying something like that—he’s my senior by so many years!’” she said. “Being Labeled ‘Most Controversial Newcomer’ Was a Mystery” Recalling the time when a magazine labeled her “the most controversial newcomer,” Ayesha said she never understood why such titles were given to actors. She humorously recalled how her mother would step in to defend her, telling journalists, “Don’t ask her questions, ask me—I am the eyewitness.” Taking It All in Stride Ayesha Jhulka admitted that media scrutiny was intense during her time in Bollywood, and actors often had to spend half their time clarifying baseless rumors. However, she now looks back at those days with amusement. “Back then, there was no concept of privacy. We didn’t have vanity vans or private rooms, but we learned to deal with it and move on,” she concluded.
