Karishma Tanna gets emotional as Hansal Mehta showers praise on her talent: "Thank you for the appreciation"

Acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta has sparked a significant debate in the industry with his recent remarks about the ongoing struggles of Hindi cinema. Taking to X, Mehta voiced his thoughts in a detailed post, emphasizing that “Hindi Cinema Needs a Reset.” His statement has resonated with many as he shed light on actors who have already showcased their talent but still need more opportunities to truly shine.

Hansal Mehta specifically highlighted a list of promising actors who have proved their mettle through past performances but still require strong roles to establish themselves as leading figures in the industry. These include Adarsh Gourav, Vedang Raina, Ishaan Khatter, Zahan Kapoor, Aditya Rawal, Sparsh Shrivastava, Abhay Verma, Lakshya, and Raghav Juyal.

Following his post about male actors, Mehta further extended his praise towards strong female actors who have consistently proved their acting prowess. He stressed that these actresses do not need just a single defining moment but rather a body of work that allows them to push boundaries, explore versatile roles, and claim their rightful space in the industry. Among those he acknowledged were: Karishma Tanna, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Tillotama Shome, Rajshri Deshpande, and Shefali Shah.

He mentioned that these actresses have time and again impressed audiences with their performances, yet, as Mehta implies, the industry needs to offer them even greater opportunities to showcase their full potential. Actress Karishma Tanna, who has been entertaining audiences for over a decade, was visibly touched by Hansal Mehta's appreciation. She took to her Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of Mehta's post and expressed her gratitude. "Sir, this literally made me emotional. Thank you for the appreciation," wrote Karishma.

Tanna, known for her roles in Sanju, Grand Masti, and the Netflix hit Scoop, has carved a niche for herself in the industry. However, Mehta's recognition highlights the need for Bollywood to provide even more nuanced and compelling roles to actors who have already proven their worth.

He also revealed how he responds to such comments in his trademark humourous style. Javed Akhtar said, “A famous painter, Chanda, called me and said, ‘Javed, tum apne aap ko atheist kehte ho. Tum jhooth bolte ho. Ek atheist...
