“As a Muslim, I want to apologise to all”: Hina Khan pens emotional plea for unity after Pahalgam terror attack

Actor Hina Khan has condemned the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, expressing heartbreak as a Muslim and an Indian while urging national unity and justice. In an emotional Instagram post, the Kashmir-born star apologised to Hindus and Indians, denouncing the attackers and supporting India’s resolve to avenge the tragedy.

A Heartfelt Condemnation On 22 April, terrorists killed 26 people, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The attack, claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba offshoot, targeted tourists, marking one of the region’s deadliest assaults since the 2019 Pulwama attack. Hina, recently in Kashmir, shared her anguish: “The way this attack was conducted by heartless, inhuman, brainwashed terrorists who claim to be Muslims is beyond appalling. It breaks my heart.” She added, “As a Muslim, I want to apologise to all my fellow Hindus and fellow Indians.” A Call for Unity and Justice Hina, known for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, stated collective pain: “It’s not about me or my pain—it’s the pain of everyone who lost their loved ones. It’s the pain every Indian is feeling.” Condemning the attackers, she wrote, “We must not mince words. I condemn it, I reject it, and I hate those who did it. Wholeheartedly, absolutely, unconditionally.” She urged Indians to avoid division, stating, “If we end up fighting each other, we would be doing what they want us to do.” Hina also called for the return of Kashmiri Pandits, saying, “Now it’s time we Kashmiris bring back our Kashmir where a Kashmiri Pandit lived like family with their fellow Kashmiri Muslims.” She concluded, “I want justice as an Indian, as a Muslim, and as a human being.”
