Actor and Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Preity Zinta was thrilled by leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s game-changing performance against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL 2025. After the match, Preity was spotted giving Yuzvendra a warm hug.
Yuzvendra Chahal delivered a stunning spell, claiming four key wickets to lead PBKS to a 16-run victory over KKR. The match took place at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who had only two wickets in the season before this game, showcased his skill with figures of 4/28, playing a crucial role in helping PBKS defend the lowest total in IPL history. KKR, chasing a modest target of 112, collapsed from 72/3 in 9 overs to 95 all out in just 15.1 overs.
Franchise co-owner Preity Zinta was visibly elated after the win. She hurried to the field, warmly hugging Yuzvendra Chahal and sharing a brief conversation with him. The heartfelt moment was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media, with fans applauding the camaraderie between her and the players. In one clip, Preity appeared overjoyed as she spoke to Chahal, even holding out her trembling hands to express the intensity of the match’s excitement.
“Couldn’t have asked for a better ending,” one fan commented, while another wrote, “Pretty Zinta…what an owner she is…”
Preity Zinta is all set to return to Hindi cinema with Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, marks her comeback after a long break. The cast also includes Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol.
The actor completed filming her comeback movie in June last year. Sharing a glimpse of the shoot through a series of behind-the-scenes photos, Preity Zinta wrote, “It’s a wrap on Lahore 1947 and I couldn’t be more grateful to the entire cast and crew for such an incredible experience (folded hands and red heart emojis). I sincerely hope all of you appreciate and enjoy this film as much as we did making it. It’s definitely the toughest film I have worked on.”
