Sara Ali Khan reveals her secret to coping with trolling; says, “I have started looking at my own thoughts like clouds”

Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, frequently faces criticism on social media for various reasons. Speaking at the Times Now Summit, she opened up about dealing with trolling and how meditation plays a key role in helping her cope.

Sara shared that she has developed a thicker skin over time and no longer lets trolling affect her. She said, “It’s become a lot less because I have started filtering out as much as I can. What helps me a lot is meditation—it allows me to see what’s real and what’s not. I have started looking at my own thoughts like clouds. I don’t even attach myself to every thought. The problem was never trolling; the problem was the emotion of ‘Is this person right?’ Now, I let that thought go. I let go of ‘Sara is the best,’ and I let go of ‘Sara is the worst.’ Sara is. That’s what I am focusing on.”

Sara also addressed the criticism she faces for visiting Hindu temples, emphasizing that her mother, Amrita Singh, taught her not to define herself by religion or caste. She said, “I was very young, in school, and even when my parents were married and we used to immigrate together abroad, I used to always wonder… Amrita Singh, Saif Pataudi, Sara Sultana, Ibrahim Ali Khan, what is going on? Who are we? And I remember asking my mom, ‘What am I?’ And she told me, ‘You are Indian.’ And I will never forget that.”

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan was recently seen in Sky Force alongside Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya and is currently filming a light-hearted spy comedy under Dharma Productions with Ayushmann Khurrana.

Up next, she will be seen in Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino and an untitled romantic comedy with Sidharth Malhotra.
