EXCLUSIVE: Black, White & Gray actress Palak Jaiswal on her chemistry with Mayur More, “Intimacy workshop played a huge role in building trust between us”

Sony LIV’s crime drama Black, White & Gray: Love Kills started streaming on the platform from May 2 onwards. Directed by Pushkar Sunil Mahabal and starring Palak Jaiswal and Mayur More in the lead, the show has been receiving rave reactions from the audience.

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Palak shared that it was her character that drew her instantly to the show when she heard the narration. “She’s so rare to come by,” said the actress. “Complex, guarded, mysterious. Her silence speaks louder than words, and I was intrigued by how little the script gave away about her. I had to play a detective—tracing her emotional past, understanding her behavior, and building her inner world. And then, of course, the story itself—it’s sharp, dark, and beautifully written. I wanted to be part of something that doesn’t play safe.”

When asked about her takeaway from the show, Palak said, “BWG taught me the value of creative risk. In a landscape flooded with familiar tropes, this project dared to be different. And that’s what excites me as an actor—work that challenges norms and invites fresh storytelling. I also saw first-hand how essential teamwork is; when everyone’s pushing in the same direction, it shows on screen.”

In Black, White & Gray, Palak’s chemistry with Mayur More is also talked about. “Mayur is incredibly approachable and grounded, which made it easy to form a natural rapport,” she said. “En route set, our playlist usually matched, it made us bond very well, we played pranks on set and usually cracked jokes around too much! On top of that, the intimacy workshop with Neha Vyaso and her team played a huge role in building trust between us. It helped us let go of inhibitions and approach the emotional and physical aspects of our scenes with clarity, professionalism, and care.”

The show also stars veteran names like Deven Bhojani and Tigmanshu Dhulia. Speaking about her experience with them, Palak said, “Working with Deven sir and Tigmanshu sir was a very formative experience. There’s a certain gravitas that senior actors carry—an aura that instantly elevates the energy on set. Watching how they embody presence, even in silence, was a masterclass in itself. I hold immense respect for both of them and felt fortunate to share that space.”
