Suniel Shetty and Athiya Shetty praise KL Rahul as he creates IPL history with centuries for three franchises

Actor Suniel Shetty and his daughter Athiya Shetty praised cricketer KL Rahul after he made IPL history by becoming the first player to score a century for three different franchises.

Athiya Shetty took to her Instagram Stories to re-share a Delhi Capitals post celebrating KL Rahul, which read, “Fifth IPL hundred from the bat of the beast.” She added a red heart emoji and set the song ‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragons as the background music. Suniel Shetty also showed his support by sharing a photo of Rahul on his Instagram Stories, captioned, “A storm in disguise” with a blue heart emoji.

KL Rahul set this milestone during his team’s (Delhi Capitals) IPL match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, where he scored 112 runs. This marks his fifth IPL century. Previously, he had scored two centuries each while playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Rahul has not recorded centuries during his stints with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This innings also stands as his seventh century in T20 cricket overall.

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul began their relationship in 2019 but made it official in 2021. The couple got married in January 23, 2023, in a private ceremony. In November last year, they announced they were expecting their first child with a heartfelt message: “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025,” accompanied by baby feet emojis. They welcomed a baby girl in March this year. Sharing a tender photo with their newborn on Instagram, the couple revealed her name, Evaarah. The caption read, “Our baby girl, our everything. Evaarah/ivaaraa ~ Gift of God.”

Recently, Athiya had also shared a heartfelt ‘Life Lately’ post on Instagram, offering a glimpse into her new chapter as a mother. The carousel featured a mix of tender, aesthetically pleasing, and deeply personal snapshots.
