Bipasha Basu strongly REACTS to online scrutiny of her postpartum body, calls it “deeply disturbing reflections of society towards women”

Actor Bipasha Basu has taken a bold stand against body-shaming after trolls targeted her for weight gain following childbirth. Reacting to a viral Instagram reel posted by former Miss India and beauty influencer Shweta Vijay Nair, Bipasha left a heartfelt comment, addressing the judgment women face over their bodies, especially after motherhood.

The reel in question featured a collage comparing Bipasha’s pre- and post-pregnancy photos, set to the lyrics of ‘Night Changes.’ Instead of mocking the actor, Shweta used the video to highlight the emotional and physical toll of motherhood, while calling out society’s unrealistic beauty expectations. Bipasha Basu reacts: “These are disturbing reflections of society” Moved by the reel’s message, Bipasha took to the comment section to express her gratitude and frustration. “Thank you for your clear words... Hope the human race does not remain so shallow and so low forever… and they encourage and applaud women for the million roles they play each day,” she wrote.

She further added: “I am a super confident woman with a very evolved loving partner and family. Memes and trolls do not define me ever… nor did they make me who I am. But these are deeply disturbing reflections of society towards women. Another woman in my place could be deeply affected and scarred with the viciousness.”

Ending her comment on a strong note, she wrote: “Anyways, if we have more strong voices and at least women understanding and applauding women for who they are, then women will rise higher and higher :) We are unstoppable, ladies.”

“Women are gods”: Karan Singh Grover praises wife Bipasha Her husband, actor Karan Singh Grover, echoed her sentiments with a heartfelt comment of his own. “We should be putting all the women we know and love on a pedestal and praying to them. They are the gods/goddesses we should pray to. In fact, I believe that god/source is a feminine energy. Nothing else could have created something as beautiful as life,” he wrote, also thanking Bipasha “for being so awesome.”

Bipasha and Karan welcomed their daughter Devi on November 12, 2022, six years after their marriage. Since then, the actor has been devoted to raising her daughter.
