Palak Tiwari reflects on Salman Khan's mentorship, says he advised her to understand filmmaking before facing the camera

Palak Tiwari began her acting career with Salman Khan’s film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Prior to that, she gained behind-the-scenes experience as an assistant director on Antim: The Final Truth. It was Salman Khan who advised her to first understand the filmmaking process and observe the dynamics on set before making her on-screen debut.

In a recent appearance on The Bombay Journey by Mashable India, Palak Tiwari reflected on Salman Khan’s influence in shaping her early career. Describing him as a mentor from the very beginning, she recalled, “It was at some Bigg Boss reunion, where Salman sir told my mom how tall I had become. He then said, ‘Kuch karna warna he life mein (Have you thought of anything with your life)?’ I said, ‘Yes sir I want to be an actor, sir.’ I was 17-18. He said that before you become an actor you need to learn what happens behind the camera. He is such a cool guy. I said okay, because you know as an actor one can take things for granted very easily.”

Palak further shared that despite working on an entire film with Salman Khan, she still finds herself star-struck in his presence. She admitted, “I’ve done a whole film with him, whenever I meet him till date, or even if I get a message from him, I get star-struck. I usually don’t get star-struck, you can make anyone sit in front of me. But when he’s in front of me, I stop speaking and start stuttering. He just changed my entire personality. Then he said, ‘Aaram se bolo (speak without hesitation).’”

Palak Tiwari was recently seen in two 2025 releases, The Bhootnii, a horror-comedy directed by Sidhaant Sachdev, where she starred alongside Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, and Sunny Singh, and Romeo S3, an action thriller by Guddu Dhanoa, in which she played Tanu, an investigative journalist uncovering a drug cartel in Goa.
