Ayushmann Khurrana REACTS to Thamma becoming his BIGGEST opening yet: “Proud, Humbled, Ecstatic!”

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is celebrating a major milestone as his latest release, Thamma, opened to an overwhelming response at the box office. The film marks his return to theatres after two years and has registered the biggest opening of his career, also becoming his first Diwali release.

Taking to social media, Ayushmann shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of Thamma and penned an emotional note reflecting on his journey, gratitude, and the significance of the release.

He wrote, “Proud. Humbled. Ecstatic! Every year, since I remember, I used to go to theatres with my family to watch a film on Diwali. When I was a kid, my parents took me to this magical place that transported me to a world that I had never imagined. Then, I used to take them and Tahira and my kids to watch a big Diwali movie. It is a tradition in my family. Today, I have taken them to theatres to watch my film — my first Diwali release! It feels incredible!”

Expressing his appreciation for the film’s team, the actor thanked producer Dinesh Vijan for trusting him with a challenging role in Maddock Films’ Horror-Comedy Universe, describing it as a character “with no reference point like an Indian betaal.”

He further added, “To see people enjoying to their fullest in theatres watching me play this character and convincing them to go on this joyride feels truly amazing. Thank you Dinesh Vijan for trusting me, @amarkaushik for being there like a rock, and my director @aditya_a_sarpotdar for making me push myself like never before.”

Ayushmann also acknowledged the creative minds behind the film — writers Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara — along with cinematographer Saurabh Goswami, production designers Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray, and music composers Sachin-Jigar for shaping the world of Thamma.

Concluding his note, the actor wrote, “What an incredible feeling it is to deliver my biggest opening with this brilliant team at Maddock Films who knows the pulse of the audience… Cheers to the entire team of Thamma.”
