Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle: Saif Ali Khan BREAKS silence on not leaving hospital in wheelchair after knife attack: “I didn’t want to create worry but people alleged ‘the attack is fake’”; Sharmila Tagore sighed, “Why doesn’t he ever listen to me?”

The third episode of Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle featured Saif Ali Khan and Twinkle Khanna’s husband, Akshay Kumar. Though it was a fun-filled episode, things got serious when Saif went into detail about the shocking knife attack at his house by an intruder in January 2025.

Saif Ali Khan also addressed the controversy of him walking out of the hospital after discharge, leading to speculations that the attack was staged or fake. Saif Ali Khan explained, “I was given a lot of advice on how to leave the hospital. The media was curious. Nobody was listening to me (laughs). I said, ‘If the media is curious, we should settle it and let me just walk out of the hospital because I can walk’. It was bad, but I was okay. They stitched it up, and I was in the hospital for a week. The back was okay and it was painful to walk. But I could walk. The wheelchair was not required.”

He continued, “Then somebody said, ‘You should go in an ambulance’! Somebody suggested, ‘You should go in a wheelchair’. My instinct was – why create any kind of panic or worry even with family, fans, well-wishers, anyone? I thought I should walk out to send a picture that I was okay. That was the idea but then there was so much feedback that ‘the attack is fake and it's not true’, but that’s the kind of world we’re living in.”

Twinkle Khanna added, “I spoke to your mom (Sharmila Tagore) after (that episode) and she said, ‘I told him to go in a wheelchair. Why doesn’t he ever listen to me? There would have been no controversy’!” Saif explained, “But I didn’t want to create worry.”

The night of the attack Talking about his encounter with the intruder, Saif Ali Khan said, “I thought he was smaller than me and I jumped on him. Later, Jeh told me, ‘It was a big mistake. You should have punched or kicked him’! But I jumped and we started this fight. He went mad; he had two knives. He just started slashing all over me. I tried to remember my training and I blocked a couple here and there. But then I felt a thump in my back that was really hard.”

He further said, “Gita, our help, helped me in this struggle and pushed this guy off me. She pretty much saved my life at that point because he had cut me everywhere, on my neck and back. There was blood everywhere. And then we locked him in the room.”

He added, “I remember I needed a weapon of some sort. We had two swords hanging on the wall outside the dining room (laughs). So, me and Hari, another help, went and grabbed them. However, I was unable to walk properly. I felt like I had been stabbed in the leg. But in reality, I had been nicked in the spine.
