Amitabh Bachchan shares health update after announcing social media break: “Yet more rest needed..adjusting..thinking and wondering..”

Amitabh Bachchan has shared another update about his health, stating that he needs more time to rest and recover. The veteran actor had recently announced a break from his usual social media updates after being advised to prioritise his recovery. On Friday, he took to his Tumblr blog to share a brief update, indicating that he continues to follow the medical advice.

In his latest post, Amitabh wrote, “Yet more rest needed .. adjusting .. thinking and wondering .. the human body and its uniqueness.”

Earlier, the actor had also addressed his absence from social media through a post on X. Explaining the reason behind his decision, he apologised to his followers and said that he had been advised to take a few days off. In Hindi, he wrote that he was unable to write anything at the moment because of the instructions to rest and recover.

While extending his wishes to everyone on the occasion of Dussehra, Amitabh reiterated that he had been given strict instructions to focus on his health and limit communication. He wrote, “First Dussehra greetings to all .. love happiness, fulfilment, prayers. Under very strict rest and recuperation .. so am not allowed to communicate .. do excuse .. my apologies." He further added, “But do take this as my respected response .. more hopefully later.”

On the professional front, Amitabh will reprise his role as Ashwatthama in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Prabhas and Kamal Haasan. Deepika Padukone, who appeared in the first instalment, will not return for the sequel, as confirmed by the makers last year. The film's release date has not yet been announced. Amitabh has also returned as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati from August onwards.
