Lisa Ray embraces the ‘Go Beyond Ordinary’ spirit at Land Rover event in Indore; shares why she relates to the Defender

Actress Lisa Ray recently attended a Land Rover event organised by Sanghi Land Rover in Indore, where she celebrated the spirit of adventure associated with the iconic Defender SUV. Sharing photographs from the event on social media, the actress spoke about her affinity with the vehicle and how its philosophy of going beyond familiar terrain resonates with her own experiences.

The event, themed ‘Go Beyond Ordinary’ and ‘Embrace the Impossible’, brought together the actress and the automotive brand for an association that she described as particularly meaningful. Lisa also highlighted the significance of being in Indore during Navratri, a festival that celebrates the Goddess over nine nights.

Sharing her thoughts on the occasion, Lisa wrote, “GO BEYOND ORDINARY. Embrace the Impossible. I’ve never been particularly interested in taking the conventional route. In life, in my career, or in the choices that have shaped me.”

Reflecting on the different paths she has taken over the years, she added, “From crossing continents and cultures to taking the road less travelled as an actor, surviving cancer, reinventing myself as a writer, entrepreneur and advocate — my journey has been anything but linear. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Perhaps that’s why I feel such an affinity with the iconic Defender. Built to venture beyond familiar terrain, to navigate the unexpected, and to remind us that the most extraordinary journeys rarely come with a map.”

Lisa’s note drew a parallel between the Defender’s off-road capabilities and her own experiences of navigating different phases of life and work. The actress has explored multiple professional avenues beyond acting, including writing, entrepreneurship and advocacy, making the event’s theme an opportunity to reflect on the choices that have shaped her journey.

Elaborating on what the idea of going beyond the ordinary means to her, Lisa wrote, “Because going beyond ordinary isn’t about chasing the impossible for the sake of it. It’s about having the courage to question what’s possible in the first place. And sometimes, the greatest adventure is discovering who you become along the way. What a pleasure it was to be in Indore with Sanghi Land Rover (@landrover.sanghi) for Go Beyond Ordinary, celebrating the spirit of Embrace the Impossible. That too during the auspicious time of Navratri: the nine nights celebrating the Goddess. Here’s to the roads less travelled, the detours that define us, and a life that refuses to be neatly mapped out. Thank you @landrover.sanghi for a memorable evening.”

Through her social media post, Lisa connected the event’s central theme with her personal and professional journey, celebrating the idea of embracing change, exploring unfamiliar paths and remaining open to new experiences.
