We have all been at the receiving end of being brown skinned. Like Kanti says in the courtroom (in the show) that parents still wish that their child was gora (fair). So, why is there this white superiority? There is this fork and knife scene which Shantanu (Srivastava) and Shatrujeet (Nath) have written so beautifully. Even our poster was about blindfolding. We were troubled by the wounds in our hearts and minds. So, we wanted to speak about that.” ...

On the same day, its actress Neena Gupta spoke exclusively with Bollywood Hungama about the film and a lot more. What do you usually do on the day your film releases? I am in Goa right now and I don’t have a television. Hence, I feel miserable that I can’t see the film. I’ll now wait for people’s reviews and reactions. Hence, what made you sign a film like Dil Dosti Aur Dogs? Firstly, it has a very good script. All the subplots have been well woven into the narrative. Secondly, my role is very different from anything I have done so far. She i...

Post-Chhaava’s BLOCKBUSTER success, is Vicky Kaushal the NEXT superstar? Trade experts share their views: “To deliver a Rs. 400-500 crore grosser is no mean feat; With this film, he can finally say, ‘Mera dukh khatam ho gaya’!”

Chhaava’s success gives a big boost to Vicky Kaushal’s star power as well. Many are already calling him the next superstar after Ranbir Kapoor. And the fact that he’s popular was evident even before Chhaava, noted trade veteran Taran Adarsh. He gave the example of Sam Bahadur (2023), which was not the usual mainstream film and yet collected Rs. 92.98 crores. Taran Adarsh said, “Despite clashing with Animal, Sam Bahadur did so well at the box office. Hence, the acceptability has come in. Now, he needs a Pan-India reach to be a superstar. This film has given him that platform. He’s something else in Chhaava!” Trade analyst Atul Mohan, in agreement, said, “Vicky Kaushal is a hard-working actor and has now got its due. After being there for so many years in the industry, you need that one big film (to take you to a different level). Chhaava fits the bill as a major part of its success goes to him. Also, to deliver a Rs. 400-500 crore grosser is no mean feat.”...
